Course number and Title
Course Reflective Narrative
At the end of the semester:
In order to critically reflect upon your learning process, use the following prompts to guide your reflections as you complete each course toward your major. Plan to write approximately 250-450 words for each course reflective narrative. Be sure to identify evidence (papers, presentations, etc.) as in-text citations as part of your narrative, and make connections between the learning and the evidence.
Example of how to integrate evidence into your course narrative:
“In SPAN 302 we explored different aspects of the dialects of Spanish spoken in the Spanish-speaking world. In groups of three, we were asked to do research on a particular dialect, and to present its historical development and linguistic characteristics to our classmates. For my presentation [you can link your presentation here or you can refer the reader to “Sample XX”], the members of my group and I worked on the dialects spoken in Peru. I feel that this presentation is good example of my understanding of the topics that were discussed in this class because it synthesizes the historical aspects that show the development of Spanish dialects (Outcome 1 of this class), and it provided me with the opportunity to apply the linguistic concepts that I learned in this class to have a deeper understanding of the dialects on which we focused (Outcome 2 of this class) and to share this knowledge with my classmates. In addition, we were able to connect this new knowledge to the content of our literature and culture classes [e.g., Span XXX], where we learned about Peruvian history and culture.”
NOTES:
Remember to give your files unique names e.g. LastNameFirstInitialPPTSPAN315.pdf
Be sure each page has a clear title, as well as the page name. Example: MLO1: Language and Communication
There should be text on any page you create in the portfolio.
